Paid advertising is becoming increasingly popular because it offers a quicker return than using search engine optimisation or social media marketing alone. But with paid advertising, PPC and online advertising changing all the time, we thought it would be a good idea to update you on the world of Google Ads.

Over the past couple of days, we have noticed some anomalies in the data of our campaigns. Google Ads was not tracking clicks or impressions properly on 30th April and 1st May, which caused major worry within the PPC department! Thankfully the team at Google Ads has since fixed the issue and tracking is now back to normal.

Changes to average spend

Another thing we have noticed is the fact that Google Ads can now spend up to twice your daily budget rather than just 20% more. We noticed this when setting up a new campaign.

Google Ads Updates

This is not as worrying as it first sounds as Google Ads says your campaign may spend more one day and less the next without going over your monthly budget. However, if you are still worried about your campaign accidentally running over budget, keep an eye on your spend, especially if your daily budget is strict.

We check our clients’ Google Ad campaigns every day to ensure that tracking is working properly and make sure Google is not running your budget through the roof! Plus, we also look for more updates in case we can use anything to enhance your campaign even further. You can see a full, comprehensive list of Google Ads updates here.
