Creating a new membership website

Just before Christmas our WebDev team launched another website. And once again, we’re pretty pleased with the result.

ACITA is the UK’s international trade association for importers, exporters, freight forwarders, customs brokers, consultants and other parties concerned in international trade. ACITA’s former website was more than five years old, so our main objectives were to bring the design up to date and enhance website functionality, including making it mobile friendly.

This meant the website needed to be user-friendly, simple to navigate, and have clear  messaging. As a membership organisation, the website is primarily aimed at engaging with ACITA members via a secure log in, giving them access to content and the Forum that are only visible to members.

The public side of the website had to portray ACITA as the leading authority in its field. The association wants it to attract new members, which meant its work, objectives and impartiality needed to be conveyed prominently,  and with a clear call to action.

About ACITA

ACITA is a trade association representing the interests of a diverse range of companies involved with imports and exports. Its members are from all business sectors from SMEs and sole traders to large multinational companies, which includes freight forwarders, software houses, custom brokers, specialist consultants and other service providers.

The organisation prides itself on its impartiality and political neutrality as it works on behalf of all its members. It aims to be transparent and objective.

Understandably, Brexit has brought about significant changes to the customs process, as well as border formalities, VAT and regulations, and the way of working with all interested parties in the UK and in the EU.

Amazing client feedback

It’s always great when we receive great client feedback, especially when someone’s taken the time and trouble to write a detailed critique like Kevin Hall from ACITA:

“It is a pleasure for me to recommend Cariad Marketing to any interested parties. Cariad Marketing has been professional, comprehensive and competent throughout the process of our working together on our membership website. Our existing website was old, outdated and frankly didn’t represent the industry we serve today. The challenge was how you create a website which reflects over 150 companies. We required a strong call to action and an interactive, attractive, organised and effective website –  a tough challenge which the team from Cariad took onboard and have delivered the most outstanding website that ticks all our requirements and more.

The reaction from our members and guests has been overwhelmingly positive. It has been a successful transition for us , and we highly recommend them for their website development and outstanding creativity. Designing a new website can be an arduous and challenging task, especially if you’re not entirely sure what you actually want or need. James/Phil made the whole process a pleasure and used industry knowledge to make great suggestions in areas we had not considered.

James and Phil displayed a patient, friendly and accommodating view during the whole process. Even when obstacles arrived and we had to take a different approach.

Overall the team at Cariad made the experience an enjoyable and stress-free one. If you are looking for creativity, I highly suggest taking a moment and speaking with Cariad.”
