Some of the UK’s leading experts in Sales and Marketing gathered at the High Leigh Conference centre in Hoddesdon on Thursday 18th of November to fuel ambition for businesses in Hoddesdon – the first business event of its’ kind in Hertfordshire. Established by Broxbourne resident Andy Lopata, one of Europe’s leading business networking strategists with collaboration with many local organisations, with over 100 delegates, the sell-out event brought together business minds in manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, start-ups and the professions from across the county to inspire, challenge thinking and fuel ambition in the ever-changing world of Sales and Marketing.

The event

Those lucky enough to have a ticket for Ambition 2015 heard from five inspirational thought-leaders and entrepreneurs who all gave their time for free to be a part of the innovative local event: Kate Lester Founder of Diamond Logistics, Phil Jones Managing Director of Brother UK, Geoff Ramm a multi-award winning Marketing speaker and acclaimed author, Andy Lopata, an international speaker and author of three books on networking and Zoe Jackson MBE Founder of Living the Dream and one of the first ever winners of the Queen’s Young Leaders award.

John Hotowka kept the audience on the edge of their seats throughout the day as host with a number of impressive magic tricks connecting mind over matter when it comes to business. “It was a privilege working with such a talented team of people both on the stage and behind the scenes.”

Topics at the Sales and Marketing event covered everything from building integrated business and life plans to help business owners and team members achieve their goals, how to connect through networking and influence people, creating ‘O.M.G’ marketing moments and generating brand awareness through intelligent PR. Check out a snapshot of the day here.

Feedback from the event has been overwhelming, particularly on the event’s Twitter page @AmbitionBrox15 where attendees could interact with the event and speakers throughout the day. With over 70,000 impressions and a strong social media Klout score of 48, this is particularly impressive when the account was only launched in October. Tweets of thanks from the event included:

Alongside 12 Hertfordshire-based sponsors including Ambition Broxbourne, Ashbourne Insurance, HB Accountants, Handelsbanken and Cariad Marketing, the event raised over £3,000 in profit from ticket sales for chosen local charities Teens Unite and Isabel Hospice. With ambition now fuelled, there are already whisperings of an Ambition 2016. Keep your eyes peeled as tickets will sell fast.
