At Cariad we are fervent supporters of local Hertfordshire charities, and the Isabel Hospice has a special place in our hearts as it provided end of life care for one of our Founding Directors’ (and my hubbie) Steve Perry, who passed away in January 2013.
So it was with joy in our hearts that we sponsored the red station at the annual Colour Me Happy 5k charity fun run on 26th July at Leventhorpe School in Sawbridgeworth. Our brief was to throw as much red paint as possible to the hundreds of dedicated runners as they passed through our station, whilst cheering them on and lending our support to their amazing fundraising efforts. The day promised much fun and laughter and didn’t disappoint!
I’m glad to say that the (at times) pouring rain didn’t dampen the spirits of the cheerful runners, and we were delighted to see so many smiling faces of young, old and canine (!) pass through, all raising much needed funds for our vital, local hospice.
It was a messy business and everyone got coated with paint from head to toe, which given the rain situation provided an interesting almost ‘blood-bath’ appearance to the whole team. As always, the #TeamCariad sense of humour shone through as everyone laughed at our appearances!
Huge thanks to James Koussertari, Sara Oliver, Lesley Willies and Sophie Marston (plus everyone’s families) who helped to make our colour station such a success.
