You might have noticed that we’re rather good at websites and we’ve just launched another one!

This one is for Artisan People, a London-based recruitment agency. The agency is implementing big expansion plans and is on target for further growth, which meant it needed to update its online presence, beginning with a new, design-led website that can grow alongside the company.

In addition to its functionality, the design was hugely important for Artisan People. They specialise in recruiting for luxury brands as well as cultural organisations, so it was essential for the website to reflect this.

At the same time, while all Artisan People staff are passionate about their specialist areas and work hard to match temporary and permanent candidates to vacancies, they also believe that professionalism isn’t dull. Their office has a fun and quirky atmosphere which is actively encouraged by the directors. They wanted this reflected in the design of the new website, so we added a few fun elements that don’t detract from the company’s high standards of professionalism, but do reveal their vibrant personalities and passion for what they do. As an example, try holding your cursor over the company logo at the top of any page and you’ll see what we mean.

As part of the new website, we also produced a fun video about the company which is embedded on the home page.

Artisan People specialises in recruiting high-quality candidates for temporary and permanent roles in specialist sectors: museums, galleries, cultural and heritage attractions; airside retail and promotional work; luxury beauty and fashion; corporate; accountancy and finance.

It differs from other recruitment agencies in specialising in the museums and galleries sector. The nature of temporary jobs the agency deals within that sector means they’re looking for candidates whose interests and personalities can be more important than previous experience. Many of the positions they fill involve looking after large numbers of visitors, so they need big personalities and people capable of keeping long queues entertained. As a result, many of the candidates on their books are actors, students and freelancers.

By bringing on board experienced consultants specialising in the corporate, retail management and accounting and finance sectors, the agency is also growing its permanent desk.
