I couldn’t be prouder of the multi-award-winning Cariad team as we celebrate yet another win! Our latest accolade is the prestigious national Working Mums Top Employer Award which we scooped last night at a ceremony at London’s Soho Hotel.
We were up against some great companies in the SME category all of which were vying for the title of Top Employer. The awards – which are now in their sixth year – are designed to celebrate companies who are leading the field in developing innovative ways of smart working suited to today’s world. The awards recognise employers of all sizes and from all industries which are progressive in their flexible working practices and proactive in seeking to retain talented staff, particularly working parents who want to combine successful careers with being a parent.
At award winning marketing agency Cariad, we have always tapped into the amazing source of talent and skills that is available and then worked hard to further develop those individuals’ business and personal skills. Furthermore as a mum myself I’ve always made it a mission of mine that the mums at Cariad can combine a successful career with a great family life. (Not that I’m ignoring the dads but none of our male colleagues has embarked on parenthood quite yet!)
The SME award was sponsored by Johnson Fleming and in choosing Cariad as the winner, the judges praised us for a “strong entry which showed an environment that facilitates people working in different ways”. They were particularly impressed with our approach to apprenticeships, training and community engagement.
We were in esteemed company at the event with other finalists including the Ministry of Justice, Vodafone, The London School of Economics and Political Science, Barclays, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, WH Smith Retail Holdings Ltd, Centrica plc and The Royal School of Veterinary Studies. The keynote speakers were John Edmonds, former president of the TUC and gender expert Eva Tutchell author of the book ‘Man Made, Why So Few Women Are In Positions of Power’.
An inspirational evening and another great result for Cariad! Well done team!
