What do you enjoy most about your role?
What I like best about being a copywriter is the chance to get to get to know more about clients and their business and to help find the best way to present them to the world. In other words, I really like making you look good! I love it when I get good feedback, especially if something I’ve written has resulted in tangible increase in click-throughs, enquiries or sales.
Where do you see the future of digital marketing going for brands?
Digital marketing is essential for building relationships between brands and their clients. It enables you to reach more people than ever before, and to be more precise when targeting potential customers so you can be sure your message is seen by the right people.
The opportunity online marketing gives you to reach your clients so quickly, frequently and at any time means your personality and brand persona take a front seat. In business they say that ‘people buy people’, and what greater marketing tool is there than yourself and your brand values. So I think that ‘being yourself’ is where digital marketing will prove most valuable in the future. When you use it effectively, your clients and customers will get the chance to know, like and trust you, and that will translate into greater loyalty and success.
My proudest achievement at Cariad is…
I’ve only just joined the team, but I have written copy for Cariad before, when Justine and the company were entering business awards: I was thrilled when they were announced as finalists in every category they entered.
And finally… where’s your favourite place to have lunch in Hertford?
Where do I start? It seems like every time I’m in town, yet another restaurant or café has opened! I’m still working my way through them all, but I really like Serendipity, or the Dog & Whistle if I fancy a beer. However, as a bit of a foodie, my favourite place is the café at Foxholes Farm Shop. It’s also a good place to meet friends with small kids as we can let them run riot in the play area while we talk in peace and maybe even enjoy a sneaky Prosecco…
