Local firm Assi Transport UK Ltd is celebrating the appointment of its first franchisee in a move it hopes will mark its expansion across the country.
Bourne End-based Assi UK has been transporting and shipping goods around Europe for the past 15 years. Specialising in the shipment of furniture, it also offers warehousing services and hopes the establishment of a franchise network will enable it to build on its continuing growth and success. Managing Director Philippa Bell explained: “2010 is proving to be a fantastic year of expansion and innovation for Assi UK.
We’ve built up a really solid business which lends itself to the franchise market and we are looking forward to establishing mutually beneficial partnerships with franchisees up and down the country.” First on board is mother-of-two Sandra Mbabazi, from Cheshunt, Hertfordshire. A former customer service employee in the airline industry, she has a degree in French and Political Science and a Masters in Human Resources Management. “I am really looking forward to working with the team at Assi UK,” she said. “The franchising model will work particularly well for me because I have the opportunity to run my own business knowing that there is a great support network at Assi UK. I’m genuinely excited about the opportunities it offers me.”
Sandra’s franchise is called Assi (North London) Ltd and will cover the North London area. “I am delighted to have Sandra on board as the first in the Assi UK franchising programme,” added Philippa. “I’m looking forward to working with her to establish her own successful business.”
