Hertfordshire Regiment Museum

We recently launched a new website for Hertfordshire Regiment Museum which included a full build, design and content upload.

While it was a standard website build, our web development team had to face a few tricky design obstacles but they worked out some clever CSS solutions. For instance, to create the medal ribbon shapes for the ‘Collections’ section.

Easy to update

We used the newer WordPress Full Site Editor templates feature to customise the section layouts, taxonomy, and collections pages. It gave us a holistic way to manage and create these pages from the WordPress backend and made updating them in the future a much more seamless process. This was important to the client as the website will continue to grow and evolve in response to the growing collections and information they receive.

About Hertfordshire Regiment Museum

The Hertfordshire Regiment Museum is an online resource from Hertford Museum celebrating the history of The Hertfordshire Regiment – a volunteer force made up of clerks, postmen, labourers tradesmen and officers that ran between 1908 and 1961.

Users are able to visit the website to read inspiring stories of courage in the face of adversity and explore the Regimental Collections including uniforms, medals, images and other objects. There is a ‘Those Who Served’ page with stories of some of the people who served in the Hertfordshire Regiment. The ‘Shop’ page takes you to the Hertford Museum website where you can browse and purchase books and medals from the Hertfordshire Regiment.

As a small independent charity, Hertford Museum needs ongoing help to fund the hosting, maintenance and growth of this website. Click here to make a donation.
